Trivia questions for kids

93 questions every child can answer: animals, food, cartoons, colours and games. There are no wrong guesses, only answers that are more or less rare.

These prompts work well with children because there is never just one right answer. “Name something with stripes” has an easy start for a five-year-old and a long tail for a curious ten-year-old.

A simple way to play at home or in class: read a prompt, go round the group, and everyone names something nobody has said yet. Whoever runs out of ideas sits out until the next prompt. It is the same idea as Seal Circle, the online version for friends.

Questions about these prompts

What age are these questions for?
Most work from about six years old, and the deeper answers keep older children and adults busy too.
How do you play trivia with kids?
Take turns naming answers to one prompt, and don’t repeat what someone else said. Rare answers can earn extra points; the levels on each prompt page show which answers are rare.
Can kids play Icillion online?
Yes. The daily iceberg needs no account, and Seal Circle rooms let a family or a class play together with a room code.

How deep does your knowledge go?

Seven prompts a day, twenty seconds each. Obvious answers float on the tip of the iceberg; rare ones sink all the way to the trench.
