Privacy and terms
Short and plain: what we keep, why, and how to remove it.
What we store
- If you only play today’s iceberg: a random guest id kept in one cookie, and your answers and score for that round. To limit abuse we also keep a one-way hash of your network address, never the address itself.
- If you sign in with Google: your Google account id, email address, name and profile picture link, so we can show who is signed in and keep your progress.
- Your rounds: the prompts you were given, your answers, scores and times, for your stats, streak and archive.
- If you buy or redeem Unlimited: the licence key or code and the fact that it unlocked your account. Payments are handled entirely by Gumroad; we never see your card details.
Cookies and your device
One cookie, called icl, keeps you signed in for 30 days. It is needed for the game to work. Your settings (sound, pixel size and so on) are kept in your browser’s storage. The site does not currently use analytics or show ads. If that changes, this page will say so before it does.
The Google sign-in button is loaded from Google only when you open the Account menu, and Google’s own rules apply to it.
Who handles your data
The site and its database run on Cloudflare. Sign-in is provided by Google. Payments and licence keys are provided by Gumroad. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Deleting and your rights
Open the game, then Menu > Account > Delete account. Your account, rounds and Unlimited access are removed at once and cannot be restored. You may also ask to see, correct or delete your data, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Terms of the game
- Icillion is a game for fun. Answer lists and levels are editorial and may contain mistakes; they are not measured from players.
- Today’s iceberg is free. A free account adds one round on each topic per day. Unlimited removes those limits and is a one-time purchase of 5 € for the account that redeems it, not a subscription.
- A licence key or code works for one account. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, Unlimited is switched off for it.
- Please don’t use scripts or tools to get around the limits or to read the answers. Accounts that do may be suspended.
- Refunds follow Gumroad’s policy for the purchase.
How deep does your knowledge go?
Seven prompts a day, twenty seconds each. Obvious answers float on the tip of the iceberg; rare ones sink all the way to the trench.
